Frequently asked questions
Do I need Ruby or Asciidoctor PDF to convert AsciiDoc to PDF?
No. Supported formats: .adoc and .asciidoc files. Asciidoctor runs in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
Are images, include files, math and code highlighting supported?
STEM math is typeset, and code listings are highlighted when the document sets a source-highlighter. Images stored as separate files and content pulled in with include:: are left out, and admonitions show their text label instead of an icon. When you need them, export a PDF with Asciidoctor and select that PDF here.
Will the downloaded file still be editable AsciiDoc?
The download is a PDF containing page images. Keep your .adoc source for editing.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Standard and bulk scanning process source documents in your browser without sending those files to a processing server. HTML files may load linked online resources such as images or fonts while they are rendered. Word, PowerPoint and Excel may download missing fonts; source documents stay on your device.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
Standard scanning is free and needs no signup. Free scans have a fixed daily limit; Pro lifts it and also unlocks bulk scanning, an ad-free workspace and API access.
