What is an OFD file?
OFD (Open Fixed-layout Document) is China’s national standard for fixed-layout documents, GB/T 33190-2016. It carries e-invoices, contracts and official paperwork the way PDF does elsewhere, keeping the page layout, embedded fonts and electronic seals fixed. Software outside China rarely opens it, so a PDF copy is easier to share.
Are the red electronic seals kept?
Yes. Visible seals are painted with the page’s text and images, so an invoice seal appears in the preview and in the download. Painting a seal is not signature verification: a scanned copy says nothing about the original document’s certificate.
Can I still search or copy the text afterwards?
No. Each output page is saved as an image inside an ordinary PDF, which opens anywhere, but the OFD text layer is not carried over. Keep the original .ofd file when you still need its data.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Standard and bulk scanning process source documents in your browser without sending those files to a processing server. HTML files may load linked online resources such as images or fonts while they are rendered.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
Standard scanning is free and needs no signup. Free scans have a fixed daily limit; Pro lifts it and also unlocks bulk scanning, an ad-free workspace and API access.
