Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a DOCX file directly without exporting a PDF first?

Yes. Select the .docx file and its pages are rendered in your browser. For an older .doc document, save a .docx copy in Word first.

What if Word fonts, tables or page breaks look wrong in the preview?

The browser may lay out a Word document differently from Word itself. Export the document as a PDF from Word, check that PDF, then select it here to add the scan effect. This more reliably preserves the fonts, tables and page breaks shown in Word.

Will the downloaded file still be an editable Word document?

The download is a PDF containing images of the rendered document pages. Keep your original DOCX for editing the text or changing the layout later.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Standard scanning and bulk scanning both run locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device.

Is it free, and is there a limit?

Standard scanning is free and needs no signup. Free scans have a fixed daily limit; Pro lifts it and also unlocks bulk scanning, an ad-free workspace and API access.
